Need help finding a home entertainment furniture?
Image a tv stand on top of a computer desk.The Dimensions I image will need to be wide and really deep, but not that tall preferably
I have a 42 inch plasma tv that I’ll use as a computer monitor, thats why I can’t buy a regular computer desk.
I need something that is a regular desk with a cutaway for my legs so I can sit down and scoot in with drawers on both sides. A typical workstation to do homework, self explaintory.
Then I need “the tv stand part of it” what has the attached shelves and compartments on the top, something like this will be perfect

Plasma does not look good close up (like looking through a screen door), and it generates a massive amount of heat. The VDT laws they enacted several years ago in San Francisco found that computer monitors should be positioned 12-24 inches from your face to prevent eye strain.
Also – most TV stands assume the TV sits on a base. Do you have a base for that plasma? Even with this – they are top-heavy and prone to falling over if you jiggle the desk.
Your best bet if you really want to do this: mount the plasma on the wall and put the desk in front. This way you can pull back until you reach a comfortable viewing distance.
