What`s with my laptop?

i have a toshiba laptop using windows vista and when i start it up, it only shows the wallpaper, no icons no anything. the only thing that shows up r all the pop-ups like xpa and stuff but that is normal cause i get that everyday and just click alt ctrl del and do task manager and end process, so it isnt the pop-ups. i am keep rebooting it but it just won`t work. i need help plz!!!!!! im not good with the stuff like put in a cd and stuff, can u give me steps how to do it that would be great! thanks!!

Have you tried booting your system in safe mode to make sure windows is not corrupt by virus. When starting computer hit F8 to get to options menu than click safe mode and see if icons show up. If they do than you may have a virus causing this in which case I would reccommend avg antivirus and spybot search and destroy to remove any virus and spyware that may be causing this. Also, if you have disabled desktop icons on your account than follow the link to enable them again. If still no icons than also try another account on your computer to see if any account shows desktop icons. I’m sure you just disabled desktop icons on your account. Good luck.
