Which graphics card is better between these two?

Which graphics card is better?
1GB GDDR5 ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5870
or
nVidia GTX460 1.5GB VRAM

I’m looking at two laptops, one is an ASUS and the other Alienware, and the only difference is that the Asus has the nVidia graphics card and the Alienware has the ATI, but the Alienware is $500 more expensive. I want to know which graphics card is better, thanks for your help.

5870 in a benchmark from toms hardware says the 5870 ran 107 frames per second, and the 460 ran 75 fps. radeon is just whooping nvidia these days, i am an nvidia fan, but i would suggest you go with the better choice here, radeon.

EDIT: if you have the extra cash to drop on an alienware pc, they are top of line.
