Is my personal information safe on computer that caught fire?
I have an HP computer that caught fire. The battery overheated and caught the laptop on fire. It is not completely burnt, so I was thinking about selling it for parts. The screen is untouched and the keyboard is fine too. Anyway, I just wanted to make sure that there would be no way for someone to access my documents or anything on it if I sold it.

Simply take out the hard drive. We have recovered files from burned hard drives various times for forensics, so it is safest to take the hard drive out before selling the laptop.
