Dell Laptop Windows Xp Professional
Can I install XP Media Editon 2005 on a Windows XP Professional Laptop?

I had a Dell inspiron laptop 1501 but got rid of it recently down to it being damaged. I still have the disks which are windows xp media edition 2005. I have been looking for a new laptop on ebay again a dell inspiron 1501 as it is easy to use and I like it. The laptop I am looking at has all the same things mine did such as graphics card and AMD Sempron etc just a smaller memory but the only difference is is the laptop is windows xp professional not media edition. As I still have the disks for installation for media edition do you think I could install xp media edition on the laptop and would it defo work?

According to me it should work fine.There is not much difference between the two.
I have heard that if your are changing the OS where there is major difference(eg. xp to 7 or vista to 7)then you have issues like touch panel not working or remote control not working etc.
