Connect my HD cable box to computer monitor, VGA or DVI-D?

I have an HD cable TV box and would like to view it from my widescreen computer monitor. What do I need to do this?

Whether or not this will work all depends on the brand and model of the monitor you are talking about.

TV signals and Monitor signals are completely different, generally you cannot display TV signals on a Monitor without some sort of tuner or converter box.

In your case, you might be lucky enough to have a monitor that is HDCP certified, which would mean that it is capable of decoding a signal such as the one that comes from the Cable box.

So, if the monitor is HDCP certified, then it should work.
