Why does my computer crash when i use the number pad on the keyboard?

I just started using this new program called Blender, and i heard that some things on it can make your comp crash. Well, I have always used the keypad numbers on the keyboard, but when i used it this one time during that program today, the computer froze and i had to restart. then it happened again during an online game. it only happen during programs like those, if i use the number pad on something like google, it just doesnt show up (it doesnt make it crash) . Does any1 know whats going on?

better reinstall your keypad driver.
There might be an error in the connection of the keypad to the cpu
