Computer Classes
What kind of classes do i need to be good in or take in order to have a career in computer programing?
I am sophomore in high school. i have been taking computer classes ever since the second grade. i have signed up for many computer programing classes for junior year. i want my career to deal with computers. i was wondering if there any other classes i need to take or be good at in order to have a successful computer career.
Science and Math classes. Most high schools will have very limited computer classes so you are lucky. I would still check with you school counselor and see if they have a cooperative program with a local junior college so you can take some of your courses at the college.
Volunteer in the computer lab at your high school or at your old grade school. Join any computer clubs that are available. If there is a senior center near you volunteer to help out in their Computer Courses for seniors. Employers and colleges just love to see volunteer work on an application or resume.
Attend the free Microsoft events held in your area. Work on getting an A+ cert – this is the entry point for most computer folks as far as certs. You can buy the course material and self-study for that test at home.
Go to the Windows IT Pro website and look info on command shell, Perl and VB scripting for system administration. This stuff is all free and can let you start to dabble in programming on the cheap.
