BUYING VISTA LAPTOP now? have most bugs been fixed? is it worth buying for thanksgiving 07 sales?
id like to know if buying a laptop with windows vista is now worth buying as there are bound to be some really great sales what do you guys think? how do programs function in vista now? like for firefox i havent seen any “vista version” do most programs from xp work then? is there some kind of list? i am wondering if it would be worth buying right now, or if its not to functional if i should then wait until prices are cheaper
ps remember vista is processor and ram intensive so that also means id have to buy top tech right now, should i wait until 2gigs is standard on the cheap laptops? ive still seen some with 512!
Vista actually runs pretty well now, the most important thing is that that your hardware can keep up – otherwise it’s dreadfully slow.
Try to aim for 2g of RAM and a Dual Core processor (or higher), otherwise having more than 1 program will drag the system a bit.
The new Internet Explorer and Windows Media actually make leaps and bounds over their old versions – I actually use both now and they both integrate perfectly with your other programs like iTunes. The new MSOffice is amazing!
The only thing I don’t like is the Aero thing is sorta pointless, and I disabled the side toolbar with calendar and clock on it because it sorta just got in my way – maybe you’ll like it but even if you don’t you can just disable it.
