What kind of external video game graphics card should I buy?
I just recently found out that you could purchase EXTERNAL graphics cards, and I was ecstatic! I’m not much of a technical genius, but didn’t want to go to a local Best Buy or Fry’s to ask this question. If I have to eventually, I will, but as of now I wanted some other opinions. I will have a link at the bottom with my computer’s specs. I have really wanted to be able to play games such as Aion, or WoW..but was disappointed when I discovered I couldn’t without lag after I bought my computer. Despite all of my misfortunes, I love my Dell very much, but I want to take it to the next level. Thanks!
(If you guys could show me options that I could purchase at a local electronic’s store like Fry’s or Best Buy, that would be great! I’m not all for using my debit card to purchase things online..hahah)

External, USB based video cards will NOT play video games, they do not have the proper video register mapping to the CPU/buss of the computer. They only work with regular Windows types of displays (browsers, spreadsheets, etc…)
There is some option that has a cardbus adapter, letting you plug in a PCI-Expressx16 video card into an external box, but again, you are dependent on their drivers. As well, for the cost of those adapters, you are probably better off selling your laptop and buying one with a gaming video chip in it.
