What Mac/other laptop should I buy?

I’m a senior in high school, and I managed to talk my parents into going “half-sies” with me on a laptop for this year/college. I was pretty sure I wanted a Mac, so I got onto the Apple website to do my research.
There are so many Macbooks that I don’t know what to get! Should I even get a Macbook? My father seems to think I should get a Dell.

Coming from someone that has had both a PC and Mac, I would definitely suggest getting a mac. Mac’s have more widgets, are faster, much more user friendly, and are not as easily prone to viruses. Macs are much easier to use than a pc, and most major programs designed for pc’s, also have a mac version (for downloading purposes). Also, most college students tend to use Macs (at least they do in Boston), and Boston has the two best Universities (Harvard and MIT). I suggest getting the macbook, (it’s lighter, and much easier to carry). I use to have the macbook pro, and it was way too heavy to lug around, the only incentive for the macbook pro was the larger screen. Once you get a mac, you will NEVER want to go back to a PC, that’s the mac curse! Good luck! and have fun with your new mac.
